Transition

We are excited to announce the newly formed WJC Settled Rabbi Search Committee. As we previously announced, the Board asked Ellie Kramer to chair this committee. Members, representing a broad swath of our community, are: Rahel Gruenberg (Staff Liaison), Elizabeth Appel, Ed Baum, Glen Berger, Nathan Brenowitz, Allison Gould, Dahlia Graham, Karen Levine, Desirée O’Clair, Leah Rosen, Laurie Schwartz, and Rabbi Ellen Triebwasser. They met for the first time last week for introductions, to discuss the timeline, review protocols, and to share hopes and concerns for this process. The committee will meet every other week over the course of the summer and is committed to sharing regular updates with the community.

The committee wants to encourage all community members to attend one of the house meetings (focus groups) which you will be invited to starting this week. Thirty volunteers have stepped up to lead these house meetings and will be inviting the full WJC community to participate. If you do not receive an invitation by July 15th, please contact Rahel, who will make sure you can attend a meeting. These meetings will be invaluable in gathering a clear picture of the community’s priorities for selecting our new rabbi.

One priority of the Settled Rabbi Committee is transparent communication. If you have any thoughts or concerns, please let us know at: rabbisearch@wjcshul.org.
