The Interim Rabbi Search Committee appointed by the board of directors of the WJC has identified four potential candidates for the position of interim rabbi. Each one has agreed to lead our congregation through two Shabbat services, a Saturday afternoon adult education class, and a dialogue session where congregants can submit questions and we can all see them interact in a person to person conversation. The candidates will also meet separately with the board of directors and committee chairs.

If we have learned anything from this pandemic, it is to be flexible day by day!  Due to the rapid rise in COVID cases spurred by Omicron, and our primary concern of keeping us all safe, the interim rabbi candidate weekends will be held on Zoom.

The weekends to mark on your calendar are as follows:

January 7-9th 2022
January 28-30th 2022
February 4-6th 2022
March 26-27th 2022

If you have specific questions that you would like to ask the candidates please formulate them and submit them to the committee by Thursday, January 6, 2022 at

We value member input and will be sending a link to Survey Monkey where members in good standing who attend candidate events can share their observations and opinions about the candidates. This information will help guide the WJC Interim Rabbi Search Committee in their decision making process as they select a candidate to recommend to the board of directors. The surveys will go out on Sunday afternoon/evening of each weekend we host an interim rabbi candidate and will close at midnight the following Tuesday evening. Please take the time to let us know what you think!
