Dancing in God’s Earthquake; The Coming Transformation of Religion

On Wednesday, November 18, 2020 we had the honor of hosting Rabbi Arthur Waskow for an interview and discussion with about his new book: Dancing in God’s Earthquake; The Coming Transformation of Religion.

Watch the video replay HERE.

Rabbi Arthur Waskow, Ph.D., is the founder and director of The Shalom Center, a prophetic-activist voice in Jewish and American life. He regards his newest book, Dancing in God’s Earthquake: The Coming Transformation of Religion, as the harvest of his life’s work, pulling together the themes he has taught for years and writing about them as seeds for the future.

His book includes chapters about religion’s view of women, the real sin of Sodom, contemporary understanding of Jewish prayer, how to develop an ecological worldview, the justice system, economic injustice, and more. Read more HERE.

Commitment to Sustainability

We care deeply for our corner of holy ground — 35 acres that includes welcoming trails through woods, across fields, and past wetlands and ponds.

We share the Jewish approach to living in balance and harmony with the earth. We do it through teaching and we do it through practice.

Our goal is to be an organization that fulfills the Torah teaching to be Shomrei Adamah: Guardians of the Earth. Our actions have been recognized by Hazon, the largest Jewish environmental organization in the United States.
