The World’s First Braille Sefer Torah is Coming to Woodstock!

Rabbi Lenny Sarko will be visiting from Pittsburgh and will share his pioneering work of creating the world’s first Braille Sefer Torah, which makes it possible for the blind and visually impaired to more fully participate in Jewish ritual life. Rabbi Lenny will bring this unique Torah scroll to show us and will describe the process of overcoming significant technical challenges such as ensuring the durability of Braille on parchment and complying with the Torah’s stringent production standards. This is a great opportunity to experience and learn about an important innovation and contribution to Jewish inclusivity.
