Hazzan Raechel’s Ordination Celebration!

NOTE NEW DATE: Saturday, January 24

DUE TO THE EXPECTED SNOWY WEATHER FORECAST WE HAVE DECIDED TO SHIFT THE DATE OF THIS EVENT. 

SCHEDULE:
10am – 12:15pm: Shabbat services. Hazzan Raechel will be called for an aliyah to the Torah for the first time with her new name. This is also one of our Lev Shalem School Shabbat Chevruta and Lev Shalem Youngsters dates. Children from our school will attend parts of the main service and parts of the morning in their classrooms. 

12:30 – 1:30pm: Lunch (including a kid-friendly menu) 

1:30 – 3pm: Musical and spoken word program to honor Hazzan Raechel.

For those who cannot join us in person, we will be broadcasting the program of music and sharing via Zoom, beginning at around 1:30pm. REGISTER HERE to receive Zoom link.

 

 

Cantor Raechel Ordination Celebration
NOTE NEW DATE: Saturday, January 24, 12:30pm 

Please join us for a musical celebration of our Cantor, Raechel Rosen, in honor of her upcoming smicha (ordination) as Hazzan from ALEPH Ordination Program in January. Read more about her journey. Lunch will be served at 12:30pm (including a kid-friendly menu) followed by a program of words and music to honor Hazzan Raechel.

Please RSVP  to ensure enough food is ordered for all! Volunteers are welcome for food service and music program. Please contact Meg Soiffer for more information!

A message from Cantor Raechel: This Sunday, I will receive smicha (ordination) as Hazzan from my school- ALEPH Ordination Program. This has been a meaningful 5 year journey that you have all been a part of. I wish I could bring all of you with me to witness this transformation. Please join me by live-streaming the event HERE! There will also be a fundraising showcase on Saturday evening January 10, featuring the music and teachings of the cantorial and rabbinic students, beginning at 8 pm EST.
