“If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.”
“The time is always right to do the right thing.”
—Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Have you been wondering how you can make a difference, big or small, in the face of so much ongoing injustice?
Please join us at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation as we hear from four local chapters of Indivisible (Indivisible.org) as they present an overview of their group’s activism in the past year. They will also present opportunities for new members.
Some of the previous activities of Hurley/Woodstock Indivisible include a concert at the Colony that raised $30,000 to fund their chapter efforts, the placement of several local billboards with pro-democracy messaging, support of Ulster Rapid Response’s ICE watch efforts, a weekly demonstration, and a newly formed activist art committee. Please register for online access HERE!
Founded in 2017, the national Indivisible is a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups around the U.S. with millions of members, all with a mission to elect progressive leaders and rebuild our democracy. Indivisible Hurley/Woodstock is focused on uniting individuals locally to bring about positive change. The IHW chapter has about 200 members.
You will also have an opportunity to hear about the WJC’s newly revived Social Action/Tikkun Olam Committee. We are full of enthusiasm with countless ideas for social action. We would love to have you join us! For more information about our committee, please contact Ellie.
