Personal Encounters with Anti-Semitism: Readings by Carol Fox Prescott

Part of the Jewish Solidarity Task Force’s Round Table Series, Carol Fox Prescott is proud and grateful to invite you to a reading of two stories from her brand new collection: 140 West 71st Street, Apartment 1-F: A Memoir in Ten Chapters. Recalling incidences of antisemitism: the subtle kind her mother lived with as a girl in the American South, and her own childhood memory of a time during World War II, when she almost lost her best friend to ignorance and prejudice, and began to understand it as the darkness that lives in all of us, and that must be exposed to be released.

After the reading, Carol will invite the group to recall and possibly share their own personal encounters with antisemitism. Within our synagogue family, we may find comfort, and understanding, perhaps even solace if not peace, as we continue to carve out our way forward.

After the program, desserts, coffee and tea!
