Are you feeling angry, overwhelmed or powerless about immigrants and citizens being targeted in this country, especially people of color? Are you outraged to see children being seized by ICE?
Please join us as we welcome the following groups to the WJC on February 11:
Ulster Immigrant Defense Network – established in 2017 by Father Frank Alagna, provides support services such as legal assistance, emergency healthcare, education, household needs and transportation to local immigrants
Ulster Rapid Response Network – a large team of volunteers who respond quickly when ICE is identified in the area. They will verify ICE’s presence and act as witnesses, videotaping and photographing when necessary, and will educate people about their rights
Woodstock Immigrant Services – a group of local people working to provide support to immigrants
Ulster County Interfaith Council – a new program that the WJC will be participating in, which will provide a wide variety of resources to local immigrants
This event is sponsored by the WJC Tikkun Olam/Social Action Committee. We would love to have you join us! For more information, please contact Ellie.
