Selichot

On the Saturday evening before Rosh Hashanah it is customary to gather for a special Selichot ceremony, during which we internally prepare ourselves for Rosh Hashanah.

At the WJC we gather for introspection and for setting our direction for the New Year. Normally we meet late in the evening so that we can conclude with the customary blowing of the shofar at midnight. This year we will meet on zoom earlier in the evening, in deference to the continuing shutdown and our earlier bedtimes.

Be ready with some paper, also some card stock or index cards to write on, and a pen or pencil. Rabbi Jonathan will lead us through a meaningful ritual.

If you are on our email list, the Zoom link is in the last newsletter.
