High Holy Days 2022 | 5783

At the WJC, not only is our spiritual foundation a source of strength and holiness for us in this year of transition, but we are also reminded that wherever we are, that space has the capacity to house holiness. Therefore, we offer multiple ways to access our High Holy Days.

Opportunities for Jewish Learning

As we approach the month of Elul and prepare for the High Holidays, there are several organizations that offer workshops and classes. Compiled by Rabbi Ellen K. Triebwasser

Get to Know Each Other on Tu B’Av!

The Jewish holiday of Tu B’Av (the 15th day of the month of Av) is loosely understood to be the Jewish holiday of love. In this spirit, we are going to take the opportunity to get to know our fellow community members better.

A Conversation on Welcoming

Join a discussion around how people have felt welcomed (or not) in the past, what it means to be a welcoming community, and how we can be an intentionally welcoming community.

A Jewish Lens on LGBTQ 101

Do you have questions about the LGBT community? Would you appreciate a safe space to ask questions and learn some of the basic information about gender and sexuality?

Join Rahel on Zoom, as she shares an introduction to where the movement is now.

Welcoming Rabbi Noyo

We invite the full community to join us as we welcome Rabbi Noyo. The weekend will include a pre-service oneg on Friday and a festive Kiddush Saturday, both outside under a tent. Rabbi Noyo will also lead us in a dedication ceremony of our newly renovated building.

Live Stream Presentation: The Music of Debbie Friedman

We are gathering at the WJC to watch the live stream together, on our big screen. This concert of Debbie Friedman’s music features Cantor Schwartz and Bat Ella, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble directed by David Enlow. Please join us!

Red Hook and Rhinebeck BYO Picnic

The WJC is grateful for all of our members who come to us from Dutchess County. Therefore, we are having an end of the school year celebratory picnic at the pavilion at the Red Hook Rec Park.

UCJF Annual Meeting

Rabbi Jonathan will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement award at this year’s UCJF annual meeting. We invite all to attend and show our support and appreciation.
