He began painting and created an incredible body of rich, colorful and magical "outsider" art depicting shtetl life, the journey to America, and life in the USA and Woodstock. Two related programs illuminate Garlock's contribution to art and the immigrant experience: Informational Evening on Joseph Garlock: September 17, 6 - 8 pm: With Garlock family members and James Cox, artist representative, including a fascinating visual presentation of the history surrounding Garlock’s immigrant experience.
